Do you work with participatory processes, stakeholder or citizen involvement, representation or developing collective decision-making processes, but lack concrete tools to facilitate the process itself? In collaboration with DM Bio, We Do Democracy organizes a masterclass in participatory facilitation, where you get a solid introduction to facilitation and become equipped to design processes that create real participation and value.

We live in a time of change – globally, locally and in our daily professional practice. These complex challenges require us to activate our collective intelligence, resources and ownership. This means that knowledge about facilitation and skills to design participatory processes are more important than ever. This masterclass is a great place to start if you want to strengthen your ability to create participatory processes that make a difference.

You will gain language, understanding and concrete tools for working with participatory processes in a time of great and immediate change. You will get hands-on exercises, a clear overview of the facilitation field and the opportunity to try out key tools in practice.

Who is the target audience?
The course is aimed at academics who need to collaborate with many different stakeholders in nature, environment and climate projects. The course provides tools to facilitate book engagement and participation.

  – have little to no facilitation experience
  – are curious about how to add value to decision-making processes through participation
  – work with citizen and member involvement in general, planning processes, local development and internal development programs for employees

Content of the Masterclass
1-2 weeks before: sending out short reading material + reflection assignment

• Masterclass:
• Understanding participation and facilitation in the context of participation
• You in the role of facilitator
• Design of processes
• Leading group dialog and deliberation
• Reflection and wrapping up
• After training (week 33): 2 hours digital check-in: Reflections + follow-up on homework assignment.
