Have you ever felt like you don’t know how to put your causes into words? Maybe discussion\, politics and democracy haven’t been a big part of your life? Don’t know where to start? \nOn the occasion of Constitution Day\, we open up for a free workshop where RØST: a speech school aimed at teaching young people to speak up\, will give us the rhetorical tools to get started with our democratic work and speak up about what’s on our minds. \nThe event will take place between 11:00-11:30 and it’s completely free to attend. No registration required – just show up on the day – and afterwards we’ll all be fully equipped to debate and talk about the constitution over a delicious summer beer or refreshing ice cream! \nCollaboration with: RØST and SnabslantenCOMMUNITY SING! with Astrid Aller and Katrine \nDo you enjoy singing in the car? Or maybe in the shower? \nWe do! But we like singing together even more! So join pianist Katrine and Citizen Representative Astrid Aller for a round of sing-alongs of old classics like “Buster” and “In a little boat that rocks” \nOS OUTSIDE – presentation \nWho is allowed to be part of Danish democracy – and who is excluded? \nCome and join us when Us Outside guests Democracy Garage on Constitution Day with a presentation that puts critical focus on the blind spots of democracy. Through eye-level information and personal stories\, we shed light on how the Constitution – which should ensure equal participation – in practice is used to exclude thousands of young people from influence and citizenship. \nOs Udenfor is a voluntary association that works for and with young people who were born and/or raised in Denmark\, but who do not have Danish citizenship. We inform\, organize and mobilize – and create safe spaces for conversations about belonging\, identity and justice. \nIn the presentation we dive into: \n\nHow citizenship in Denmark is granted – and why the rules are among the most restrictive in Europe.\nThe long road young people have to travel to obtain citizenship\, even when they are born and raised in the country.\nThe feelings\, dilemmas and consequences of being an “outsider” – told by young people with their own experiences.\nA critical analysis of Article 44 of the Danish Constitution\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Time\nJune 5\, 2025\, 09:00-22:00. \nLocation\nDemokrati Garage\, Rentemestervej 57\, 2400 Kbh NV \nEnrollment\nNo registration required \nOrganizer\nDemocracy Garage
