Passengers Take the Pulse

We Do Democracy facilitates 5 regional conferences across the country where passengers are invited on board in the development of the future of public transportation.

Background

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a drop in the number of passengers in public transportation. However, public transportation plays a crucial role in the climate-friendly mobility of the future, and therefore it is essential that passengers feel that traveling by train, bus or metro is an attractive transportation choice. If more people are to choose public transportation, passengers’ voices must be heard in the development of the public transport of the future.

Task

Passengers take the pulse is a series 5 of regional conferences that We Do Democracy is facilitating in collaboration with Passagerpulsen at Forbrugerrådet Tænk during 2022. Each of the conferences will address a separate regional focus area to discuss and explore how climate-friendly mobility can also become the preferred means of transportation for Danes

Solution

Through listening panels and recommendation workshops, passengers from all over the country will develop recommendations for the future of public transport in collaboration with experts and transport operators. The recommendations will be included in Passenger Pulse’s work to put passengers’ wishes at the top of the traffic agenda.

Results

  • At 5 regional conferences, passengers from all over the country will take the pulse of public transport in 2022 – and develop recommendations for how even more people can hop on board the climate-friendly journey.
  • The conferences are aimed at anyone who uses or is interested in/works with public transport – whether as a passenger, professional, stakeholder or politician.
