Saturday d. On September 24, 2022, We Do Democracy facilitated the first citizen assembly on sustainable consumption. The members of the Citizens’ Assembly are representative and reflect the entire population of Denmark. The core task of the Citizens’ Assembly is to imagine a future of sustainable consumption and what this looks like in more concrete terms. The Citizens’ Assembly creates their visions and recommendations based on expert input, conversations with each other and qualifying their recommendations along the way.
The Citizens’ Assembly on Sustainable Consumption is a collaboration between We Do Democracy and the Capital Region of Denmark, the Region of Southern Denmark, Frederiksberg Municipality, Rudersdal Municipality and Vejle Municipality, where they have committed to receive and process the recommendations of the Citizens’ Assembly. We Do Democracy is excited to facilitate the Citizens’ Assembly and see it as a very ambitious and important initiative that brings together citizens across the country.
The citizen consultation ends in March 2023 and the recommendations will be launched in April 2023.
