Join us for Democracy Morning Coffee and Constitution Day Celebration on June 5, 9:30-10:30am at the Democracy Garage!
With award-winning jurist Rasmus Malver, we will engage in an interactive seminar on the Danish Constitution, its history, its use today, and specific dilemmas, weaknesses and interesting points of reference. Together with the Democratic Forum, we will build our own constitution and reflect on our understanding of both the Constitution and Constitution Day.
Join us in a space where no question is wrong, where we are all affected by the debate and where everyone can join in!
Traditionally, there will be FREE coffee and a pastry from Flere Fugle for attendees!
So let’s open today’s festivities with an educational seminar that will set the tone for our Constitution Day.

DEBATEWORKSHOP
In collaboration with RØST, we offer a morning workshop in debating, discussing and speaking out. Have you ever felt like you don’t know how to put your causes into words? Maybe discussion, politics and democracy haven’t been a big part of your life? Don’t know where to start?
On the occasion of Constitution Day, we open up for a free workshop where RØST: a speech school aimed at teaching young people to speak up, will give us the rhetorical tools to get started with our democratic work and speak up about what’s on our minds.
The event will take place between 11:00-11:30 and it’s completely free to attend. No registration required – just show up on the day – and afterwards we’ll all be fully equipped to debate and talk about the constitution over a delicious summer beer or refreshing ice cream!
Collaboration with: RØST and Snabslanten
COMMUNITY SING! with Astrid Aller and Katrine
Do you enjoy singing in the car? Or maybe in the shower?
We do! But we like singing together even more! So join pianist Katrine and Citizen Representative Astrid Aller for a round of sing-alongs of old classics like “Buster” and “In a little boat that rocks”
OS OUTSIDE – presentation
Who is allowed to be part of Danish democracy – and who is excluded?
Come and join us when Us Outside guests Democracy Garage on Constitution Day with a presentation that puts critical focus on the blind spots of democracy. Through eye-level information and personal stories, we shed light on how the Constitution – which should ensure equal participation – in practice is used to exclude thousands of young people from influence and citizenship.
Os Udenfor is a voluntary association that works for and with young people who were born and/or raised in Denmark, but who do not have Danish citizenship. We inform, organize and mobilize – and create safe spaces for conversations about belonging, identity and justice.
In the presentation we dive into:
