Nordic Deliberation Learning Call: The road to institutionalizing citizen gatherings in municipalities

How do we institutionalize citizen gatherings in Nordic cities? What are the barriers to implementing permanent citizen gatherings? And how can we use components of citizen gatherings, such as drawing lots, deliberation, and everyday expert knowledge, as permanent tools in the municipal toolbox?

Join us as we hear from the Nordic cities that are leading the way on institutionalization. We’ll share how far we’ve come in the Nordic region and together we’ll take the next steps towards the participatory democracy of tomorrow.

The Learning Call is open to everyone. It is particularly relevant for those who work in the public sector or with democracy and participation and are looking for a practice-oriented conversation about how citizen gatherings are used in administrations and what potential there is in the method.
