Nordic launch of the book “Democracy’s Second Act” by Peter MacLeod

The election campaign is underway. There are debates, promises, campaigns and the cities are covered with election posters. But what happens when the campaign is over and the election is decided?

Too many people feel that their voices are not heard and have no impact on the real political reality. So how do we create a democracy where more people feel heard, involved and responsible in everyday democracy?

Join us for an inspiring evening with Peter MacLeod, author of the book “Democracy’s Second Act”, as we explore how democracy can evolve in a time of mistrust, complexity and political resignation. Based on current challenges and concrete experiences, the book invites reflection on how we can strengthen the role of citizens in the second act of democracy – not only as voters, but as active co-creators of society.

Editor-in-Chief of Altinget Jakob Nielsen will be interviewing Peter MacLeod – where he will discuss the problem raised by the book about the need to rethink the role of citizens in democracy. In addition, the evening will include a panel debate followed by a conversation with the audience. There will be an opportunity to think out loud together, ask questions and explore what it takes to make democracy more vibrant, inclusive and empowering.
