WDD participates: Marmara Urban Forum 2025

Zakia Elvang and Johan Galster, We Do Democracy’s two directors, have been invited to speak at the Marmara Urban Forum 2025 (MARUF25) in Istanbul. MARUF focuses on urban issues and how to solve them, with the motto “Cities Developing Solutions”.

Zakia and Johan are co-hosting the event“Democracy Re-Discovered: Deliberate, Don’t Degenerate” (1/10 at 12:00), where they will dive into the potential of deliberative democracy with the participants.

Zakia will also facilitate the session“How to Build a Common Ground in a Polarized World” (1/10 at 15.30) with the aim to explore how to build common ground and dialogue when political, social and cultural polarization is growing.
