Helene works with moral narratives and values, particularly those related to the built environment. She aims to help integrate democracy into everyday life through conversations about democratic values—not just through quick policy changes. Among other things, in her master’s thesis she examined housing debt as a moral tool that shapes citizens’ life choices and opportunities.

With a background in anthropology and urban planning, Helene’s project and research practice ranges from ethnographic fieldwork and analysis to creative workshops and the utopian future workshop as a democratic space where participants can transcend the status quo and discover new avenues for action.

Helene has experience in the museum world, where she has communicated with both the general public and professionals, and she believes in the potential of art and culture as a democratic platform.
