Louisa is a consultant at We Do Democracy, where she works on youth engagement processes related to the Youth Municipal Plan in the City of Copenhagen and serves as a project manager at the Democracy School. She is a certified Democracy Fitness trainer and has previously worked with, among others, the Copenhagen Climate Citizens’ Assembly and the Ruds Vedby Citizens’ Panel.

Louisa has a particular passion for strengthening local communities and fostering cross-sector collaboration among citizens, organizations, and associations. For the past two years, she has served as project manager for the local transition project RENTEN Transition Nordvest, which is based at Demokrati Garage in Copenhagen’s Nordvestkvartér neighborhood and is inspired by the global transition movement.

As a result, she has extensive experience in designing and facilitating inclusive processes at the local level and organizing practical transitions in collaboration with others. She believes that local change processes must be rooted in interactions with people and is skilled at building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

She is also interested in strengthening political organizing and diverse communities, where she has experience from coordinating a collaboration between local groups across the country engaged in resisting fossil fuel infrastructure projects.

Louisa has an interdisciplinary background in sociology, political science and climate change from The University of Edinburgh and the University of Copenhagen. She is particularly interested in the connection between social and economic inequality and the environmental and climate crisis and is passionate about active, diverse participation in the green transition, including through deliberative democratic processes.
