Rose Steen Mikkelsen is a consultant at We Do Democracy, where she advises on projects ranging from understanding participatory democracy to local and international citizen gatherings, as well as strategic work with democratization of associations and organizations.

Rose has a background in political science at the University of Copenhagen, where she specialized in democratic innovations, green theory and climate policy. She is passionate about democratic citizenship and strengthening the connection between citizens and democracy. Rose is rounded by experiences from the civil service in central and municipal administration, the start-up world and the thriving civil society. Project setting, mobilization and organizing cut across these experiences, and Rose therefore has a deep understanding of project processes from ideation to implementation – whether in an institutional framework or grassroots mobilization.
