Thomas Noppen provides consulting services on democratic participation, theory, innovation, and technology. With particular expertise in politics, media, innovation, and technology, he works to strengthen and expand democratic engagement across society and to explore how technology can enhance citizens’ opportunities for participation. He analyzes complex issues and translates insights into concrete strategies and activities that strengthen democratic engagement.

Thomas previously worked in the design industry as a foresight consultant, advising companies on change and possible futures, particularly in the areas of politics, economics, climate, and technology. Previously, he was a journalist, editor, and entrepreneur, and he founded media outlets and organizations driven by a desire to enrich public discourse.

Thomas is a senior consultant, project manager, and advisor at We Do Democracy. He holds a master’s degree in political communication and leadership, as well as a bachelor’s degree in history and political science. He has previously worked for the design firm Manyone, served as editor of an international design magazine, hosted the first edition of Radio24syv, founded and served as chair of the New Media Association, and worked as a political advisor.
