Democracy Drinks on November 21st – It’s now five years since the first citizens’ assembly was held in Denmark – What have we learned?

Join us at Democracy Drinks, where the democracy sector comes together to share insights and get things moving. A sector across systemic and everyday democracy where experts, decision-makers, professionals and activists share the latest democracy research, studies, strategies, projects, legislation and ideas.

Join us for a special edition of Democracy Drinks that focuses on the development of civic communities from the stakeholders of civic communities: citizens, politicians, civil servants, third-party secretariats and experts.

It’s been five years since the first citizens’ assembly – the Citizens’ Assembly on the Medieval City – was held in Denmark. Five years later, we find out what the recommendations of the citizens’ assembly have led to in terms of political results and what it has been like to be part of the process for citizens, civil servants and politicians.

Then we present our new release – “We Do Democracy’s new Dataset – knowledge, data and learnings.”

Finally, Simone Klint, Senior Consultant at We Do Democracy, together with Lars Tønder, Professor with Special Responsibilities, Deputy Head of Department and Director of Studies at the University of Copenhagen, will give us an insight into the development of the wishes Danes have for participation, based on the Democracy Panel.

Democracy Drinks is generally a concept that brings together the democracy sector to share insights and make things happen. It is a network across systemic and everyday democracy where experts, policy makers, professionals and activists share the latest research, studies, strategies, projects, legislation and ideas in democracy.

Democracy Drinks is a regular occasion for open, impartial and inspiring presentations and conversations about democracy, its development and new and old formats. The concept is international and is held in several locations in Europe. Read more about Democracy Drinks and the initiator Defend Democracy here: https://democracydrinks.org/
